James Taylor's "One Man Band," a new CD/DVD set of live recordings and the stories behind the songs. The set list is drawn from Taylor's recent concerts at the Colonial Theatre in the Berkshires and features new performances from some of the iconic singer/songwriter's most beloved recordings including "Something in the Way," "Carolina in my Mind," and "Fire and Rain," interspersed with Taylor's insightful and humorous anecdotes on the inspiration for the songs.
For the DVD portion of "One Man Band," Taylor called on veteran television events producer and director Don Mischer ("Kennedy Center Honors," and "Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show with Prince") and executive producer and acclaimed filmmaker Sydney Pollack ("Out of Africa," "Sketches of Frank Gehry") and their extensive talents to properly capture the feel of the live concerts. "One Man Band" tells the story of Taylor's songs through exclusive interviews and rare multi-media footage, including home movies and photographs from Taylor's personal archives. The result is an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind portrait of an artist, his renowned repertoire and the personal stories behind the songs.
Over the course of his career, James Taylor has sold over 40 million albums, and won over 40 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards as well as five GRAMMY® Awards. Taylor's first "Greatest Hits" album earned him the RIAA's elite Diamond Award, given for sales in excess of 10 million units in the United States. In 2000, Taylor was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame. In February 2006, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences named Taylor its MUSICARES Person of the Year.

| I am a long time James Taylor fan and this is one of the best concerts I have heard. His voice is great as ever and his guitar playing is so smooth. The only thing I did not like was his political comments about how the current president should resign. I did not appreciate that and it was unecessary. Other than that, I enjoyed this great voice and guitar. |

| I have always enjoyed and appreciated James Taylor's talents as a musician. When I saw the program of "One Man Band" on PBS, James Taylor stepped out as a humble, majestic, and down-to-earth spirit. His life experiences swelled like ocean waves upon his songs. I was so amazed and humbled by his stage presence that I was moved to tears for about the first half-hour of the program, and usually, I am not an overly emotional person. His musical talent and down-to-earth, humble way about him are so special :)....I love the cd and the dvd and would recommend it all to those who appreciate James Taylor but really would like to experience his true spirit for it is on stage that he truly comes to life :) |

| What more wonderful attributes can be said that has not already been said about James Taylor. Having grown up listening to him as many other baby boomers have, you never get tired of hearing his terrific vocals, wonderful guitar playing and poignant stories. This live CD makes it seem that you are listening to his songs for the very first time! Also, a VERY pleasant surprise was listening to Larry Goldings on backup piano and keyboards. Just awesome! I can't wait to see the DVD that accompanies this CD. To sum up my review of "One Man Band" CD/DVD live performance of James Taylor....Simply beautiful! |

| I have watched this at least half a dozen times, listened to the CD and how amazing is this CD+DVD. Larry Goldings is truly amazing, the setting was fantastic and so was the sound. Thank you very much for such a great item. This is the best I have bought thus far. JT's simple style and voice is just truly wonderful. He has done it so well and with so much meaning, and the fact it was in his hometown made it even more special. As usual Mr Taylor, great job! |
